North Mason library hosts “Dog Man” party

The North Mason Timberland Library will be celebrating the upcoming animated movie “Dog Man” with a party from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The library is hosting a pet supply drive leading up to the party now through Saturday, and supplies can be dropped off during regular hours Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The pet supply drive benefits the Humane Society of Mason County and Adopt-a Pet of Shelton.

Each organization has a list of preferred items on their websites at https://www.hsmcwa.org/wish-list.html and https://www.adoptapet-wa.org/10-ways-to-support-aap.

“When a police officer and his faithful police dog get injured in the line of duty, a harebrained but life-saving surgery fuses the two of them together — and Dog Man is born. As Dog Man learns to embrace his new identity, he must stop feline supervillain Petey the Cat from cloning himself and going on a crime spree,” according to the official trailer for the movie.

Belfair State Park to reopen

Belfair State park will reopen Saturday

The park has been closed since Dec. 22 for emergency repairs. A waterline leak caused the shutdown, according to Olyvia Buday, Washington State Parks area manager for South Sound.

The park is at 3151 NE state Route 300, Belfair. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to dusk year round.

A one-day pass to the park is $10, an annual pass is $30, overnight unattended vehicle fee is $10 per night and trailer dump fees are $5 per use, according to WSP.

Tiny art show at Belfair library

Entrants for the Tiny Art Show at the North Mason library in Belfair need to submit their work by Friday.

Works will be on display at the library throughout February.

Earlier in the month, NMTL provided free kits with a miniature 4X3 canvas, acrylic paints and a brush.

Artists can use their own tiny canvas and supplies and mixed media is allowed.
