Shelton boys basketball

The Shelton High School boys basketball team returned from its holiday break to face Capital in a nonconference game on Monday at Terry Gregg Court in Shelton, falling 38-29 to the Cougars.

Shelton fell to 2-9 overall with the loss.

The game was tied at 15-all at halftime before Capital edged away in the second half.

Shelton began Evergreen Conference play on Wednesday at Black Hills.

North Mason boys basketball

The North Mason High School boys basketball team fell 78-74 on Friday at Muckleshoot Tribal School in Auburn.

The Bulldogs opened Olympic League action on Tuesday at North Kitsap.

Mary M. Knight girls basketball

The Mary M. Knight High School girls basketball team returned from its holiday break to rout Columbia Adventist 61-25 on Monday in Matlock.

The win was the Owls' fifth straight and moved MMK to 7-2 overall.

The Owls hosted Evergreen Lutheran on Tuesday and travel to Oakville on Friday.

Mary M. Knight boys basketball

The Owls' boys basketball team dropped to 0-8 with a 67-34 loss to Columbia Adventist on Monday night in Matlock.

MMK hosted Elma's C team on Tuesday and then travels to Oakville on Friday.
