Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Susan Eileen Giffin-Huey passed away suddenly on December 15, 2024, in Ocean Park, Washington, due to degenerative muscle disease.
Sue was born and raised in Shelton, Washington, where she developed a deep love for family and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She was a lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan, cheering passionately for her team through every season. Sue also found joy in painting rocks with her partner, Jim. Together, they would hide these colorful creations in public places, spreading small moments of happiness to others.
Sue treasured the friendships she cultivated throughout her life-whether work, online communities, or shared hobbies. Her amazing smile was contagious, and generosity and kindness left a lasting impression on all that knew her.
She is survived by her domestic partner, Jim Allen, her daughters, Monica Sykora and Vicki Lamb; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her siblings Jerry Bloomfield, Darlene McCallum, and Peggy Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maxine and Pete Bloomfield.
Sue's love for the beach and her family were central to her life. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life for Sue will be held in Shelton on January 19th, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at a location to be determined.
