A man shot in the head near the Belfair QFC around 2:30 a.m. Friday survived his injuries and was treated and released from the hospital the same day, Mason County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Matt Colbenson told the Journal in an email.
Police arrested the suspect in Silverdale Monday, according to MCSO.
“On Monday the 18th, MCSO detectives located the suspect vehicle in Silverdale and requested assistance from Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) detectives and patrol units. The suspect was observed leaving a local business and entering the vehicle, which was under surveillance. KCSO patrol units initiated contact and safely took the suspect into custody without incident,” MCSO said in a news release.
The alleged shooter and the victim may know each other, MCSO said in a news release.
“At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, Mason County Sheriff’s deputies began investigating a shooting involving one victim who was struck in the head,” MCSO wrote in a Facebook post Friday.
The shooting may have occurred in the QFC parking lot, according to MCSO. “Preliminary evidence suggests that the individuals involved are known to each other. The circumstances leading up to the incident are currently under investigation,” the post states.
The suspect was booked into the Mason County Jail, Colbenson said.
