Barbara Grace Martin

Barbara Martin, resident of Glendale, Arizona passed away peacefully November 11, 2024. Barbara was born February 4th 1930 in the Philippines to Frank and Roxie Howard. She spent most of her childhood in Oregon graduating high school from Grants Pass, Oregon. She then graduated from the University of Oregon earning a teaching degree. She began her teaching career at Yelm High School from 1964 to 1966. After obtaining her Masters Degree in Counseling, she worked at Shelton High School as a counselor from 1966 to 1977.

After leaving the education profession, she worked as an auditor with the State of Washington until her retirement where she resided in Olympia, later relocating to Glendale, Arizona.

Barbara lived a long and fulfilling life with her four daughters by her side at the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Joy Pollock, Robert (Bob) Howard, Paul Howard and son-in-law Dave Carlson. She is survived by her four daughters Marilyn Martin (Carl VonderHaar), Cathie Carlson, Stacey Grant (Mike) and Laurie Forde (Neil). six grandchildren, Jeff (Gina) Carlson, Jeremy Ogg, Leah Krogness-Powell, Cole (Kris) Vonder Haar, Kyle (Andrea) Vonder Haar, Erin Vonder Haar, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who were all deeply loved.
