Cross country

North Mason sophomore Alisha Carpenter was the top local finisher at the state cross country meet Saturday at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Carpenter finished the 5K course with a time of 20 minutes, 42.2 seconds fo finish 58th overall in the 2A girls race. Bulldog freshman Samantha Neil was 108th with a personal-best 22:13.

In the 3A boys race, Shelton High junior Trayson Bartholomew finished 157th with a time of 17:45.4.

North Mason

Volleyball

The Bulldogs earned an at-large bid as the No. 10 seed in the West Central District 3 tournament, but came up just short in their bid to advance, falling 3-1 to Steilacoom on Nov. 8 at Fife High School.

Shelton

Football

The Shelton High School football team wrapped up its 2024 season with 24-21 victory over Timberline at South Sound Stadium in Lacey.

The Highclimbers finished their first season back in the 3A ranks 2-8 overall (1-4 3A Greater St. Helen's League.)

Girls soccer

Shelton High School defender Tatum Dickey was named first team All-Evergreen Conference.

Achaya McMullin earned second team honors in the midfield, and Ashley Hermenegildo, Amaya Carrion, Lydia Hansen, and Blake Germeau were named honorable mention for the Highclimbers.

Mary M. Knight

Football

The Mary M. Knight High School football team fell 58-45 on Nov. 7 in Matlock against the Washington School for the Deaf.

The 45 points were a season high for the Owls.

MMK finished the season at 3-5 overall.
