Barbara Elaine Harrington, a resident of Shelton for 27 years, died Saturday November 2, 2024 at Shelton Health and Rehabilitation, she was 83.
Barb, the youngest of three sisters, was born November 14, 1940, in Seattle, Washington, to Ben and Emma Satre. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1959. She was voted Queen of the Halibut Fleet1959-1960 and a Seafair princess that same year.
Barbara married the "love of her life," William (Bill) Harrington on August 25, 1967, in Seattle. Together they raised two children in Centralia before settling in Olympia WA.
She worked as a bookkeeper for their family-owned fuel distributorship for over 25 years. Barb also worked for the Mason Senior Activities Center doing their books until she retired.
Throughout the years Barb loved boating and traveling in the RV with family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning and crocheting. Barbara was an active member/officer of the Shelton Women's Auxiliary Eagle Club 3862 for 20 plus years.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Becky Adams, her husband Jeff, son Brett Harrington, and his wife Rella, all from Shelton: four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 20th 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Skookum Hall in Shelton.
