Cross country runners head to district meet

Shelton football

The Shelton High School football team dropped its final home game of the year 63-16 to Prairie High School at Jack Stark Field at Highclimber Stadium in Shelton.

The Climbers face Kelso at 7 p.m. Friday in Kelso, and recently added a nonconference week 10 game against Timberline on Nov. 7 at South Sound Stadium in Lacey.

Shelton is 1-7 overall and 1-3 in 3A Greater St. Helens League action.

Shelton girls soccer

The Shelton High School girls soccer team dropped two matches last week, falling 8-0 to Tumwater at home and 3-0 to Aberdeen on the road.

The Climbers wrapped up their regular season this week with W.F. West on Tuesday.

Shelton volleyball

The Climbers dropped two straight-set matches last week, falling 3-0 to Tumwater on Oct. 22 and 3-0 to Aberdeen on Oct. 24.

Shelton girls swimming

The Shelton High School girls swimming team competes in the 3A District IV tournament on Friday and Saturday at Kelso.

The meet begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Shelton cross country

The Highclimbers competed in the 3A Greater St. Helens League District Meet on Oct. 23 at Lewisville Park in Battle Ground.

On the boys side, Shelton’s top runner was Trayson Bartholomew, who finished ninth with a 5K time of 17 minutes, 57 seconds.

Skyler Hirsh was 17th at 19:09.

The boys team finished third at the meet with a score of 103.

For the girls, Addison Aldrich was 11th with a time of 22:53 and Madison Lohmeyer as 12th with a time of 23:01.

The girls were fifth with a team score of 106.

Shelton will compete at the Westside Classic ­— District 3/4’s championship meet — on Saturday at Chambers Creek Properties Central Meadow in University Place.

North Mason football

The North Mason High School football team fell 51-0 to Olympic on Friday at Olympic High School.

The Bulldogs (1-4 in Olympic League, 4-4 overall) host Sequim at 7 tonight at Phil Pugh Stadium in Belfair, aiming to finish the regular season with a winning record.

North Mason girls soccer

The Bulldogs’ girls soccer squad dropped two matches at home last week, falling 7-0 to North Kitsap on Oct. 22 and 6-0 to Bainbridge on Oct. 25.

North Mason faces Olympic and Sequim this week to wrap up the regular season.

North Mason volleyball

The Bulldogs dropped two matches last week, falling at home to North Kitsap 3-1 on Oct. 22 and 3-0 at Bainbridge on Oct. 24.

North Mason faced Olympic on Tuesday before heading to the Olympic League postseason tournament Saturday.

North Mason cross country

The Bulldogs cross country teams competed at the Olympic League championship meet Oct. 24 at Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course in Sequim.

On the girls side, the Bulldogs’ Alisha Carpenter was sixth overall with a 5K time of 20 minutes, 23.25 seconds. Samantha Neil was 13th at 22:15.49.

Both runners will compete in the Westside Classic — District 3/4’s championship meet — on Saturday at Chambers Creek Properties Central Meadow in University Place.

For the boys, Jaiden Greer was 49th with a time of 22:15.31.

Mary M. Knight volleyball

The Mary M. Knight High School volleyball team dropped a pair of straight-set Costal League matches last week, falling 3-0 at Willapa Valley on Oct. 22 and 3-0 at Ocosta on Oct. 24.

The Owls wrapped up their regular season on Monday hosting Oakville.

Mary M. Knight football

The Owls (3-3) had a bye last week and travel to face Northwest Christian at 7 p.m. Friday at Black Hills High School.

MMK wraps up its regular season on hosting the Washington School for the Deaf at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 7 in Matlock.
