Second-half 2024 property tax payments due Oct. 31

Second-half property tax payments for 2024 are due on or before Oct. 31, according to a news release from Mason County Treasurer Lisa Frazier.

Payments can be made at the Treasurer’s office at 411 N 5th St., Bldg. 1 (2nd Floor) in the office between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or at the drive-up payment drop box in the alley.

For those mailing in their payment, payments must be postmarked no later than Oct. 31 to be considered on time and avoid interest charges.

Postmarks and delivery can be delayed when using USPS to mail payment(s), so mail early.

Delinquent interest will be charged for payments beginning Friday,

Nov. 1.

The Treasurer’s Office offers the ability to pay by credit/debit card at the counter, online and by phone through Point N Pay. The office accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express.

Note that a fee is associated with the use of debit and credit cards for the payment of property taxes pursuant to RCW 36.29.190.

Note that if you have been assessed DNR Fire Patrol Assessment on more than one parcel of property owned by you in Mason County, you might be entitled to a refund from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Refunds requests must be received on or before Dec. 31. Fire Patrol Refund forms can be found at http://www.masoncountywa.gov/treasurer under Forms/Brochures/Handouts or picked up at the Treasurer’s Office.
