North Mason football captures fourth victory

Shelton cross country

The Shelton boys finished second and the girls placed third at an Evergreen Conference cross country meet Oct. 9 at Borst Park in Centralia.

In boys results, junior Trayson Bartholomew finished second in 19 minutes, 2 seconds. Freshman Skyler Hirsch finished ninth in 20:12.64, junior Caleb Hensrude placed 10th in 20:24.53 and senior Jackson Dale placed 11th in 20:51.79. Sophomore Carter White rounded out the Highclimbers in 14th place with a time of 21:27.48.

In girls results, freshman Addison Aldrich placed second in 23:15.33. Junior Madison Lohmeyer took seventh place in 24:07 and freshman Hailee Nadeau took 10th place in 25:38.83. Sophomore Liv Rasmussen took 15th place in 28:15 and senior Giulia Conti took 16th place in 28:19.15.

Shelton competed at the third Fall Classic Invitational at the Pacific Lutheran University Disc Golf Course in Tacoma. Aldrich was the highest finisher for the Highclimbers, placing 79th in 23:08.7, and Bartholomew was the best Highclimber for the boys in 94th place in 18:16.5.

Shelton was back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis to compete against W.F. West and Black Hills in a league meet.

Shelton lost 39-5 against Evergreen (Vancouver) during a 3A Greater St. Helens League football game Oct. 10 at McKenzie Stadium in Vancouver.

The Highclimbers (1-5, 1-1) return to Vancouver on Friday to face Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. in a league game.

Shelton girls soccer

Shelton lost 1-0 against Aberdeen on Oct. 8 in Shelton, lost 2-0 against W.F. West on Oct. 10 in Chehalis and lost 4-0 against Kelso on Oct. 12 in Shelton.

The Highclimbers (2-8, 0-5) traveled to Centralia on Tuesday for a league game and hosts Black Hills at 7 tonight in a league game.

Shelton lost 3-1 against Aberdeen on Oct. 8 in Aberdeen but bounced back with a 3-1 win against W.F. West on Oct. 10 in Shelton.

The Highclimbers (4-5, 3-2) hosted Centralia on Tuesday and play Black Hills at 7 tonight in Tumwater in a league game.

North Mason cross country

North Mason sophomore Alisha Carpenter won the Olympic League meet Oct. 9 at Lincoln Park in Port Angeles.

Carpenter finished the race in 20 minutes, 30.8 seconds, 12 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Freshman Samantha Neil placed ninth in 22:29.53 and freshman Aurora Martinez took 38th place in 27:34.05.

In boys results, North Mason senior Jaiden Greer finished 35th in 22:14.81.

The Bulldogs are back in action at 4 p.m. on Friday, competing in an Olympic League meet at Battle Point Park in Bainbridge.

North Mason ended a two-game losing streak with a 31-21 win against Cedar Park Christian School in a nonleague game at Juanita High School in Kirkland.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 1-2) play against Bremerton on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in an Olympic League game in Bremerton.

North Mason girls soccer

North Mason lost 4-0 against Port Angeles in an Olympic League game Oct. 8 in Belfair.

The Bulldogs (1-9, 0-8) played Bremerton on Tuesday in Belfair and play against Kingston at 7 tonight in a league game in Kingston.

North Mason volleyball

North Mason won 3-0 against Port Angeles on Oct. 8 in Belfair but lost to Sequim 3-1 on Oct. 10 in an Olympic League game in Sequim.

The Bulldogs (6-6, 3-6) hosted Bremerton on Tuesday and play against Kingston at 6:30 tonight in Kingston in a league game.

Mary M. Knight football

Mary M. Knight lost 51-0 to Clallam Bay on Oct. 11 in a 1B Coastal League game in Clallam Bay.

The Owls (2-3, 1-3) play Lake Quinault at 1 p.m. on Saturday in a league game in Matlock.

Mary M. Knight Volleyball

Mary M. Knight lost 3-1 to Taholah on Oct. 8 in Taholah but bounced back with a 3-0 win against Lake Quinault on Oct. 10 in Matlock.

The Owls (5-6, 3-5) traveled to Naselle on Tuesday and play Wishkah Valley at 7 tonight in a league game in Matlock.
