Courtney Owen Drebis

On October 6, 2024, the world lost a beautiful soul. Courtney Owen Drebis was born in Shelton on December 14, 1970. He spent his first three years in Shelton and then the rest of his childhood in Hawaii and Southern California, returning to Shelton in 1986. He completed High School in Shelton and received his CNA at South Sound Community College. He loved to care for others and was a champion of the underdog.

In 2000, he married Sara Simpson Drebis. They lived in Olympia with a beautiful view of Budd Inlet and the state capitol. For many years, they both worked in the healthcare system.

Court is survived by his wife Sara, his mother and stepfather, Janet and Bruce Hilderman. His sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Kevin Pennington, sister Erin Danzer, nephews, Dane and Max Pennington, Cannon Drebis, nieces, Rayanne and Robin Drebis, his cats Ajax and BJ, and many lifelong friends.

Preceding him in death was his beloved brother, Christopher Drebis, his father Raymond L. Drebis, Jr. and grandparents, Lawrence and Alice Larson. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
