Please go vote
Editor, the Journal,
Christians, are you satisfied in the way our country is leaning? Many Christians don’t bother to vote. The state of our country is at risk, our children are at risk. Please go vote! It is crucial to get our country back on the right track.
“God Bless.”

Vote Neatherlin
Editor, the Journal,
This affects all of us in Mason County.
Candidate for Mason County commissioner, William Harris, just did something disgusting, and everyone should be aware of it. Mr. Harris sits on the planning commission and just voted to approve a rezone for his biggest campaign contributor. He received thousands while this rezone was coming before him. He was even asked to recuse himself, but he declined, saying it is not illegal. Maybe what he did was not illegal, but it is certainly unethical and disgusting. My question is, where was the newspaper on this issue?
Harris has taken thousands from this same contributing developer that recently received $5 million dollars of Mason County taxpayers’ money to provide free sewer infrastructure through his property in the Belfair UGA. This is a gift of public funds. Developers should pay for development, not pay for politicians. Commissioner Neatherlin openly fought against this. This is in his District # 1, but commissioners Shutty and Trask outvoted Neatherlin. Over 170 people sent emails begging the commission not to do it. Only eight wrote in favor, including the applicant and his employees.
Now this developer wants Mason County to pay to provide sewer through his property and into Kitsap County. This would be just another private development project funded by Mason County taxpayers that would negatively impact the local businesses of Belfair. Kitsap gets the sales tax and property tax, while Mason County gets the poop.
Commissioners Shutty and Trask have given this developer everything he has asked for. A vote for Harris will continue the gifting. The Harris campaign is outspending Neatherlin 4 to 1.
Please, Mason County re-elect Randy Neatherlin Mason County commissioner District No. 1.
Jack Johnson, Belfair
