Celtic duo Magical Strings performs in Hoodsport

The Olalla Celtic musical duo Pam and Philip Boulding perform as Magical Strings at 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at a Lake Cushman house concert.

Admission is a suggested donation of $15 to $20. A potluck will follow the performance. For reservations and to find out the location of the concert, call 360-877-5862.

Since 1978, Magical Strings has recorded 22 albums showcasing traditional Irish arrangements, original compositions and what the group's website describes as "subtle world music influences." They perform on their own crafted Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers, augmented with button accordion, pennywhistles, concertina and other instruments.

The couple has toured and collaborated with artists that include singer/songwriter Dan Fogelberg and slack key guitarist Keola Beamer.

When they'e not on the road, the Bouldings teach, compose, build instruments at their home, Magic Hill, in Olalla in south Kitsap County. They offer virtual classes and the virtual Magic Hill Summer Harp Camp on their 5-acre property overlooking Puget Sound.
