The North Mason High School football team ran away from Kingston in the second half, capturing a 30-10 win over the Buccaneers on Friday at Phil
Pugh Stadium in Belfair.
The Bulldogs have outscored their first two opponents 67-16 en route to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2019.
North Mason travels to Port Angeles at 7 p.m. Friday for its first road game of the season.
Girls soccer
The North Mason girls soccer team lost 8-1 at Port Angeles on Sept. 12, falling to 1-2 overall. The Bulldogs host Sequim and travel to Bremerton this week.
Boys tennis
The Bulldogs lost 7-0 to Port Angeles on Sept. 10 in their season opener and tied Sequim 3-3 on Sept. 12 on the road.
North Mason faces Bremerton and Kingston this week.
Shelton Football
The Shelton High School football team is now 0-2 with a 41-21 loss at North Thurston on Friday.
The Highclimbers and Rams were tied 21-21 in the fourth quarter, but North Thurston scored 20 unanswered points in the final minutes to claim the win.
Shelton will host Capital on Friday at Jack Stark Field.
Volleyball
The Shelton High School volleyball team dropped to 1-2 after a three-set loss to North Mason on Thursday. The Highclimbers face Evergreen (Vancouver) and Centralia this week.
Girl soccer
The Shelton High School girls soccer team fell to 1-2 with a road loss at Yelm on Sept. 12.
The Climbers play an alumni match Thursday and return to regular season action next week.
Cross County
The Shelton High School cross county teams competed in the Olympia Cross Country Classic on Saturday at LBA Park.
Shelton senior Jack Parker was 76th with a time of 12:40.7.
Junior Trayson Bartholomew was 38th with a time of 12:26.7, Sophomore Carter White was 111th with at 15:19.7, freshman Silas Baker was 127th at 15:03.7 and freshman Ruben Dale was 131st at 20:35.2.
On the girls side, Madison Lohmeyer was 23rd at 14:50 and Guilia Conti was 71st with a time of 20:09.1. Freshman Addison Aldrich was 22nd at 15:32.6 and Haille Nadeau was 25th at 15:46.1.
Mary M. Knight Football
The Owls lost 65-0 at Wishkah Valley on Saturday in their season opener.
MMK travels to Lake Quinault at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Volleyball
The Owls volleyball team dropped two matches last week, falling in straight sets to Taholah at home Sept. 12 and then dropping a 3-1 decision to Quilcene on Friday at home.
The Owls face Lake Quinault and Naselle this week.
