Carl Bradley Ison

January 1, 1950 - August 15, 2024 • Veteran, U.S. Air Force

Carl Bradley "Joe" Ison of Bremerton died on August 15th, 2024 at St Michael's Medical Center. He was born in Auburn California on January 1, 1950, to Carl and Virginia Ison. He lived in many small towns in northern California before moving to Sacramento. In 1966, he moved with his parents to Washington and completed high school in 1968 at North Mason High School in Belfair.

He joined the United States Air Force shortly after graduation and was stationed in Thailand for one year during the Vietnam era. After discharge, he worked at PSNS for a time and later had a long career with Lockheed Aerospace beginning in 1976, retiring in 2009. He joined the United States Air Force reserves after discharge from active duty and served until 1993 retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant E-7.

He was also a 42-year member of Hood Canal Masonic Lodge No. 288 in Belfair.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rod (Pat). He is survived by his son Andrew, daughter, Karen (Allen) Hill, grandchildren, Daniel and Christopher, brothers Gary (Sheri) and Lee (Dee Dee) and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at Haven of Rest Cemetery on Saturday August 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date at Hood Canal Masonic Center in Belfair.
