Arnold O. Martinson, Jr., "Arnie" passed away on June 3rd, 2024 peacefully at his home in Shelton, WA.
Arnie was born on January 16th, 1960 in Superior, Wisconsin. He attended schools in the Summit Lake area, graduated from Capital High School in 1978. He Joined the United States Marine Corps in 1982, where he specialized in Engineer Equipment Operator, Rifle Sharpshooter with an honorable discharge in 1986.
Arnie worked as a laborer in the many mills, nurseries in Montesano, WA for most of his adult life. He was a very meticulous person, one for details and organization. He had a liking for playing shuffleboard at his local veterans club; he was an active member of the 40et8 Veterans Club of Shelton, WA, he enjoyed shooting a game of pool, and enjoying a cold beverage with the guys. He had a wonderful sense of humor with an amazing laughter and smile that lit up any room. He was an honest hard working man with integrity.
He is survived by his sister Linda (Don) Durden of Kelso, WA, brother John (Tina) Martinson of Shelton, WA, brother August (Susan) Martinson of Olympia, WA, nieces; Heidi, Stephanie, Amy and Nephew Justin and great-nephews Mitchell and Carter, and a special friend Rachel (Joe) Cromer. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arnold O. Martinson, Sr., and Evelyn Martinson, his sister Martha Tennis and his niece Rebecca Martinson.
He will be missed by many, a small gathering for friends and family will be held at the 40et8 Veterans club in Shelton, WA on September 7th, (service date revision) 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.
