Linda J. "Blondie" Jones

September 7, 1953 - July 18, 2024

Linda J. "Blondie" Jones passed away July 18, 2024 of an aortic aneurysm at the age of 70, and thankfully didn't suffer! She was born in Ironwood, Michigan, to Jean White and Kenneth Bergstrom. Linda was raised in Mellen, Wisconsin and attended Mellen Public School. In the 1970s, she married Maurice "Rocky" Bone in Mellen and they had three children, twins Maurice ("Rocky, Jr.") and Naomi, and later, brother Shawn Bone was born.

Linda worked most of her adult life in the hospitality industry, including 23 years as the owner of the iconic Blondie's Restaurant in Shelton. Not only was her establishment a landmark in our community, but Linda herself was a force to be reckoned with! Everyone - both young and the elderly - loved this hard-working, dedicated lady. She enjoyed baking pies, cooking, her dogs (doxies) and collected anything wiener-dog related. She loved watching movies, football, and she was a proud "cheese-headed Green Bay Packers fan." Her restaurant was and still is a landmark in our small town community. She will be greatly missed by all of Shelton, not to mention all of the tourists who roll through town to eat at Blondie's and visit with Linda. She also enjoyed online Bingo, shopping and simply talking to anyone and everyone! Linda just LOVED her customers, - feeding them and visiting with them! - and her staff, whom she loved dearly and thought of as "her family."

Linda met and married her first husband Rocky and moved to the Pacific Northwest after meeting Rocky in her hometown of Mellen during the Vietnam War. Rocky was a returning soldier and came to "have a beer" with a fellow soldier he had met in Vietnam. They told each other if they survived the war, they would get together in each other's hometown, which they did, and that's when Rocky met Linda. They fell in love and she moved to Shelton to be with him a few years later.

Linda supported countless organizations such as local sports teams, domestic violence programs, and the Leukemia Foundation, just to name a few. She loved people, she fed the homeless and cared deeply for her community. She was truly a Rock Star!

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, granddaughter, and great-great grandson. Linda is survived by her children Rocky, Jr. and Teresa Bone, Naomi Frank, Shawn and Michelle Bone; siblings, Mary and Rose of Shelton, John, Paul, Hugh, Jeff and Michael, all of Mellen, Wisconsin. Linda had eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Linda will be truly missed!

The family is hosting a Celebration of Life at Blondie’s Restaurant, Linda's home away from home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Stop in to say goodbye and share your memories! Refreshments will be provided.
