Festival of Stories for all ages at library

Adults and children can enjoy hearing stories, telling tall tales, writing and being entertained at Shelton Timberland Library’s Festival of Stories from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library at 710 W. Alder St.

At 11 a.m., storyteller Cory Howard turns storytelling on its head. Rather than telling the story himself, he draws it to the audience, with the help of life experiences shared by attendees. At 1 p.m., Skokomish Tribe member Christopher James uses storytelling to inspire the audience and to share deeply rooted values.

At 3 p.m., Professor Petticoat’s Punch & Judy Show is staged.

The event also includes workshops for writing poems and songs, an all-ages show and tell, picture book story time for adults, “Moth” style storytelling and an “exquisite corpse” writing game.
