Allyn Days set to kick off Friday at Waterfront Park

The three-day Allyn Days Salmon Bake and Geoduck Festival begins Friday with Music in the Park, a free event on the main stage at Port of Allyn Waterfront Park, where all the events take place.

The Allyn Community Association will have a hamburger and hot dog stand and Bent Bine Brewery will be serving “new, fresh summer beers,” according to the association.

The lineup:

4 to 4:30 p.m.: Samuel and the Band Who Knows, a local country-rock band.

5 to 6 p.m.: Jason Rogers, a Grapeview guitar player/singer performing classic rock.

7 to 8 p.m.: King Kom Beaux, Cajun-inspired rock-swamp boogie and blues.

The Salmon Bake is Saturday and the beer garden, vendors and kids activities, including paintball and a kiddie train, continue.

Saturday’s music lineup at the main stage:

11 a.m. to noon: Joe Black the Magician, an entertainer who appeared on “America’s Got Talent.”

1 to 2 p.m.: The Chameleons Band, dance music.

3 to 4 p.m.: Hi-way 16, Gig Harbor band playing rock and blues.

6 to 7:30 p.m.: Alive 85, Elvis tribute band.

The gazebo stage:

Noon-1 p.m.: Backwoods Wind Jammers, local band.

2 to 3 p.m.: Swing Fever, swing music.

Sunday, the Mud Run, hosted by the ACA and Taylor Shellfish, starts at 12:30 p.m.

It’s an all-ages, 100-plus-yard dash in the low-tide mud.

There’s a wash down area to clean up afterward and duct tape is available to secure shoes to feet.

On-site registration is available for the run.

An oyster shucking competition also happens Sunday.

Parking is reserved inside the park for entertainment, vendors, port-a-potties and handicap parking.

Parking is available in the grassy area on the corner of Wheelwright and Lakeland Drive. A Saturday shuttle service will stop there and at St. Hugh Episcopal Church. The shuttle will not be running Sunday.
