Bluegrass from the Forest this weekend
Eight bands, the Chick Rose School of Bluegrass and campground jams are among the musical offerings at the Kristmas Town Kiwanis' 19th annual Bluegrass from the Forest music festival Friday through Sunday at the South Mason Youth Soccer Park in Shelton.
A weekend pass is $45 and includes admission to all events Friday through Sunday. A family weekend pass, which includes two adults and as many as four children, is $90. Passes for specific afternoons or evenings are $12-$15, or all day Saturday for $25 or all day Sunday for $15.
People ages 13 through 17 get in for half price, and those 12 and younger are admitted free. The Saturday night dance is free with any wristband or $15 at the door.
Camping is available for $15 per night on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Summer movies at Shelton Cinemas
Admission is by donation to summer movies hosted by Shelton Cinemas in downtown Shelton.
The doors open at noon and the movies begin at 12:30 p.m. They are "Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken" Monday, "Shrek 2" July 22, "The Little Rascals" July 29, "Minions: Rise of Gru" Aug. 5, "Sing 2" Aug. 12, "Trolls Band Together" Aug. 19 and "How to Train Your Dragon" Aug. 26.
Concessions are specially priced, with hot dogs for $1.50, popcorn for $1.50 and soda for $1.50, or all three for $3.50.
Meet Republican candidates Saturday in Shelton
Republican Women of Mason County host Candidates in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Kneeland Park in Shelton.
Attendees can meet and greet candidates for state and federal office, and local candidates for the Mason County Commission and Mason County Superior Court judge. Information: http://www.RWMC.club.
Festival of Stories for all ages at library
Adults and children can enjoy hearing stories, telling tall tales, writing and being entertained at Shelton Timberland Library's Festival of Stories from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20 at the library at 710 W. Alder St.
At 11 a.m., storyteller Cory Howard turns storytelling on its head. rather than telling the story himself, he draws it to the audience, with the help of life experiences shared by attendees. At 1 p.m., Skokomish Tribe member Christopher James uses storytelling to inspire the audience and to share deeply rooted values.
At 3 p.m., Professor Petticoat's Punch & Judy Show is staged.
The event also includes workshops for writing poems and songs, an all-ages show and tell, picture book story time for adults, "Moth" style storytelling and an "exquisite corpse" writing game.
Patio & Bake Sale hosted in Allyn
St. Hugh Episcopal Church hosts its 33rd annual Patio & Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at 280 E. Wheelwright St., Allyn, off Lakeland Boulevard.
Proceeds benefit Mason County agencies. Offerings include collectibles, linens, household items, jewelry, plants, books, games, tools, sports equipment, pies, breads and fresh baked cinnamon rolls.
Book sale benefits Shelton library programs
The Friends of the Shelton Timberland Library host a book sale from 11 a.m. to noon July 20 at 710 W. Alder St.

Market on the Hill Saturdays in Hoodsport
St. Germain Episcopal Church hosts its Market on the Hill from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 27, Aug. 10 and 24 and Sept. 14 and 28 at 600 Lake Cushman Road, Hoodsport.
The market on Saturday is combined with the food bank annual fundraiser at the Hoodsport Fire Station at 331 N. Finch Creek Road in Hoodsport.
Inaugural Shelton Art Walk July 27
The Shelton Art Walk is hosted from 4 to 10 p.m. July 27 in downtown Shelton. Information: sheltonartwalk.com.
The event by the City of Shelton, the Creative District Committee and the Shelton Downtown Merchants is designed to commemorate the effort to establish the Downtown Shelton Creative District, and organizers hope to make it an annual event. The Art Walk will feature more than 80 vendors and artists. An outdoor Evening Market on Cota Street will include artists, crafters and food trucks.
