Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886

Lester Marshall Johnson

God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you and He whispered, "Come to me." You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you needed rest. God's garden must be beautiful. He only takes the best.

Lester Marshall Johnson, born May 3, 1948 in Brekenridge, Minnesota to Armand (deceased) and Cora (Heideman) Johnson (deceased). Les passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 with Sandy by his side.

Lester was raised on his family farm in Doran, Minnesota with his siblings Karen, Dennis, Janelle, Dale and Daniel. He attended school in Brekenridge, Minnesota. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Les moved to Shelton, Washington in 1969 where he trained in carpentry. He started Johnson Construction in the early '80s, employing family and friends. Lester married Sandy Covey on September 3, 1978. Their union raised two daughters, Debi Johnson and Trisha Browning which blessed them with grandchildren Zachery, Marcus (Shyanna), Devin and Alexis as well as four great-grandchildren Emily, Kodi, Tristan and Noah. The couple moved to the Limerick Golf Community in the '90s where they built lasting friendships, family and a lot of homes.

Lester was a very enthusiastic Washington sports fan. He was an avid hunter with both bow and rifle. Les liked nothing better than a Fall hunt with Niels at Naselle for elk as well as local deer hunting. Highlights of conversations were their travels with the Lunds to interesting places. He would crack a smile when talking about the Limerick scrambles with the guys.

May his memory be a blessing.
