Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Caroline Ann Tuttle, age 79, passed away on May 1, 2024. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carol was born on July 25, 1944, in Hanford, California to Harvey and Hilda Currie, and spent her formative years in Seattle, Washington. She attended Auburn Academy where she met and married the love of her life, Philip Eugene Tuttle, Sr. Her dedication was to her family, and she chose to be a homemaker, so she could be home with her three children. She also did in-home daycare for friends and family. As her kids got older, she went to work at Stretch Island Fruit Leather Factory for 32 years. She was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
But more than anything, Carol was a devoted mother and was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. She was an active member at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, and a volunteer in various children’s programs and service projects in her community. In her free time, Carol enjoyed singing, camping, gardening, sewing, cooking and helping out wherever she was needed. After retiring, one of her greatest joys was having extra time to spend with her youngest granddaughter, Meske Ellis.
Carol is survived by her brother, Les Currie; her sister, Cindy McCulloh; her children, Kimberley Ann Temple and husband Robert Temple; Philip Eugene Tuttle, Jr. and wife Lisa Tuttle and Barbara Rene’ Ellis and husband Carter Ellis, her four grandchildren and two-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and two grandchildren.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18, 2024, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m., located at 206 Wyandotte Avenue, Shelton, WA 98584.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make donations payable to: Kristmas Town Kiwanis and mail to: PO Box 777, Shelton, WA 98584. In the memo put “Carol Tuttle” and all donations will be applied to their “Day of Champions” Service Project that holds track and field competitions for local disabled children. “We thank you for your generosity!”
