The HUB Center for Seniors in Belfair has scheduled an Easter event for all ages, The Hoppining, from noon to 4 p.m. March 30 at the center at 111 N.E. Old Belfair Highway.
The event is billed as a “Glow in the Dark Extravaganza” with thousands of eggs and many prizes. The nonprofit group is seeking sponsors, vendors and community booths to host booths at the event.
The center is also offering hand-crafted Easter baskets as a fundraiser. Fill out the order form available on the group’s website and provide information to help create a basket for someone special in your life. Discounts are available to people who order early. The baskets can be picked up at the center.
Beckie Evans leads a class in chair yoga at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. The cost is $5 per session, with HUB members paying $2. All the center’s fitness class are free for the first class to ensure the class fits someone’s fitness needs.
Tai chi classes are offered from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. every Wednesday. The cost is $3 for members, $5 for nonmembers.
The HUB also offers a fresh salad bar every Monday and Tuesday. The meal comes in two sizes, $5 and $7, and add soup for $3. Patrons 55 and older can pay what they can.
Play bingo at 3:30 p.m. every first and third Wednesday of the month. A reusable bingo card is available for $2. Prizes are awarded and food is available.
The Good Grief Group meets at 1 p.m. Mondays and is offered exclusively for widows. The women in the group meet to learn, grow and support each other.
A creative music workshop is hosted from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the third Friday of each month. Bring your instrument or play one provided by the center. Bring songs you are working on, learn new skills and jam with others, and bring snacks to share. Admission is the suggested donation of $5.
Live music is performed from 10 a.m. to noon every Monday and Tuesday. Admission is $2 for members and $5 for nonmembers.
Play mahjong from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays. Players with all skill levels are welcome, and instruction is available. The cost is $2 for members, $5 for nonmembers.
