Murder mystery dinner shows in Shelton
The long-running soap opera "The Bold and the Young" is in its last days.
The hunky hero has self-esteem issues, the actor playing the villainous old man on the series for 40 years is more interested in soup, and the heroines are slightly psychopathic.
The executive producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when the director ends up murdered, the other cast members start dying. Can the cast discover the murderer before the show is literally killed off?
That's the premise of "The Bold, the Young and the Murdered" by Don Zolidis, staged by Shelton-based Connection Street Theatre Feb. 14-16 as Valentine's Murder Mystery Dinner.
The show is staged at 6 p.m. Feb. 14, 7 p.m. Feb. 15 and 6 p.m. Feb. 16 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection St., Shelton.
The Feb. 14 dinner and show features boneless pork ribs and shrimp skewers. Tickets are $35. Tickets for the Feb. 15 dessert buffet and show are $10 and can be purchased at the door. The Feb. 16 dinner and show features a spaghetti meal and the tickets for $25 are also available at the door.

Michelle Whittaker directs the show. "Every character has their quirks," she said.
She added, "I had to read a lot of scripts to find one that was entertaining and had a good plot."
The cast features Herb Cargil, Andrew McClatchey, Zephaniah Harris, Lee Ann Harris, Emily Reed, Jo Overby, Tillie Carnahearn, J.D. Faubion, Anna McClatchey, Hailey Coleman and Zacharie Taylor.
Connection Street Theatre hosts auditions for "Something Rotten" on March 3.
