Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
1961-2023
Our hearts are broken by the loss of our sweetest, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Full of life, he wasted not a minute of it.
Bill spent his days working, which was his idea of pleasure. He loved to care for his family, his friends, his cats, and his home.
From Justin: "To know Bill is to be Bill's friend. To be Bill's friend is to be Bill's family."
Anyone who knows Bill, knows he loved cars, especially his "Froggy". We all knew he could fix anything and rebuild and restore a classic car from the wheels up.
From Les: "Bill could take a box of dust and turn it into a diamond."
Bill loved to be outdoors taking his kids and 'grandyun's', as he called them, on adventures. It was one of his greatest joys in life! To the fish hatchery, then to Hunter Farms for ice cream was always part of Grandpa's adventure. And he could grow flowers!!!! He turned his yard into the most beautiful park. His garden was filled with delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers.
His talents are too many to name. It would fill this newspaper front to back. Bill grew up in Shelton from the age of four, only to move to Seattle to meet his "Robie" and bring her back to Shelton where they lived happily for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robie, his daughters Billie Anne (Russ), Heather (Jason), son Ian (Deidra, Malani, Leo); grandchildren Eli (Corrin, Ivy (Blue, Walle), Zyra, Jimmy, Lauren; "bonus grandchildren" Greyson, Trinity, Blake "34", great-grandchildren Kaiya, Alena, Zane and Abi, "brother" Jim (Sharon), Terry (Drenda). Brothers and sisters by marriage: Jane (Pat), Cheri, Sharon, Bonnie and family; nieces and nephews Lisa, Emily (Chris), Brandon, Jennifer (Ed), Jessica (Chris), Zoe, Owen, Karen (Brian), and by his beloved Germany family and many more. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father, Anita and Merle.
Thank you to all our friends, he loved you! Eric (Emily, Les (Karolyn, Reuben (Teresa), Justin (Sabrina), John (Rosie) Benjimin (Robyn and Emmett), Hugh (Sarah, Ina), Anthony (Becca), Jeff Weaver, Kevin (Kathy, Felicity, Canyon Jimmy, Joey, Jerry Medley (D), Tam (Barb), Jim Clark, the Bragg family, the Ferguson family, the Rhodes family. From Eric: "Bill to me many wise things...I asked him how often I should change the oil in my Alfa Romeo transaxle? He said, "at least once". LOL; Recently Bill told me this: "The people who love you talk about you when you're not around", and now he's gone. ;-(
To my Bill: "I will love you and miss you FOREVER, 'till we see each other again my darling, my heart is broken." - Your Robie
