All State Honor Band includes four Bulldogs
Four North Mason High School band students have been accepted into the 2024 Washington Music Educators All State Honor Band program in February.
The students are Jack Buckingham, percussion; Raymond Felton, bass clarinet; Carl Lewis Jr., trombone; and Haleigh Scott, bass.
The students sent in their audition recordings in October, along with hundreds of other high school students throughout the state.
The four students will travel to Yakima in February to work with college professors and fellow band students. The program culminates with a performance in Yakima’s Capitol Theatre.
Member needed for North Mason School Board
The North Mason School Board is seeking a board member to represent Director District 4.
The selected board member will serve until the November 2025 election. The position became available with the retirement of John Campbell. Qualified candidates must reside within the boundaries of District 4 and be registered to vote in the North Mason School District.
Applicants can submit a letter of interest that includes contact information, a brief biographical sketch and a statement about their interest in being a board member. The letters will be accepted at the District Office, 71 E. Campus Drive, Belfair 98528.
School board meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month in the district’s administration building at 250 E. Campus Drive in Belfair.
According to the district, the rewards of serving on a school board include “giving back” to the community by contributing your time and talents to an enterprise that creates a positive future for our children; serving as a leader for your fellow citizens and ensuring the community’s voice is heard in decisions affecting the schools in our community; working as a team member in a school system that is striving to become one of the best; and helping to ensure a quality public education for all students.

Starting at the intersection of the eastern border of Belfair State Park at Plum Point and state Route 300. Easterly on state Route 300 on N.E. Gladwin Road. Southerly, northeasterly and north on N.E. Gladwin Road to state Route 300, meandering northeasterly on state Route 300 to the north/south center line of Section 28, Township 23, Range 01W. South on the north/south center line of sections 28 and 32 of Township 23, Range 01W to the southeast corner of parcel 123325000087. West on the southern parcel boundary of said parcel to parcel 123325000088. South on the eastern border and west on the southern border of said parcel to N.E. Roessel Road. South and east on Roeseel Road to state Route 3. Southerly on state Route 3 to 2020 Census limits for Allyn CDP. Counter-clockwise on the 2020 Census limits for Allyn CDP. Donations provide fresh produce to seniors
The HUB Center for Seniors is collecting donations so it can again offer a salad bar on Mondays and Wednesdays for seniors and residents with disabilities.
On its website, the nonprofit states that fruits and vegetables are essential to maintaining good health, preventing chronic diseases and promoting overall well-being. For seniors and low-income residents, who may face specific health and economic challenges, having access to these nutritious foods is particularly important for their quality of life and long-term health.
