John Miller of Matlock passed unexpectedly on October 1, 2023 at 11:44 p.m. in Idaho Falls, ID from a heart attack.
John was born in Bremerton, Washington to Pete and Shirlee (Owens) Miller July 13, 1951. Growing up John lived in many places but made Matlock his forever home with his wife Genna Miller. John and Genna (Jo)were married June 30, 1989
John enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1971 and left the Marines in 1975. He was the most patriotic American you could ever meet. He loved driving truck, he referred to himself as a "Professional Tourist", he loved John Wayne movies, hunting and being outdoors. But mostly John loved his family; he especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
John is survived by his Wife, Jo, his four children, Jeff Miller (Natalie), Jennifer Florek (Benjamin "Kelly"), John Miller, Jr., and Shaunna Miller, his grandchildren, Haley Duncan, Dallas Miller, Madison Miller, Mackenzie Duvall, Zander Miller, Bayli Duvall, Corbin Miller, and Ryenn Miller-Forrey. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, lots of great-nieces and nephews and three sisters, Sharon Tibbits, Linda Emery, and Susan Bischoff.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two older brothers, Larry and Bryan Miller, and his sisters, Sandy Luedtke and Barb Bellizzi.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Matlock Grange.
