"Very tough conditions today with rain all day and very wet long rough," Shelton coach Lorna Martinson wrote to the Journal in an email. "Carson and Austin stepped up and had a great outing again. Carson is knocking on the door to be under par so he is peaking at the right time. Austin just had a couple wayward shots but he battled back to save several scores. Tonight was also our senior night, so we got to honor our three seniors, Carson, James and Bjorn for their outstanding contribution to our golf program over the years. It has been great to see these guys mature in both golf and in life. Our senior parents also did a great job preparing a feast and some gift baskets for the seniors. I am looking for us to bounce back against Black Hills on Wednesday at Tumwater. I think the conditions made play very tough, so it was great to see some of the best play this season from our top two guys."

Shelton traveled to Tumwater Valley on Oct. 4 to face Black Hills and lost 218-237. Harmon tallied a 40 to lead Shelton, and Covert shot a 42. Jacot carded a 49, Scott had a 50, Marbet a 56 and Lincoln Hancock rounded out the Highclimbers with a 67. Black Hills' Jack Casler and Pheonix Flores tied for medalist with a 37.

Shelton traveled to Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on Monday and defeated Rochester 232-337. Harmon once again led the way with a 40. Scott shot a 45, Jacot tallied a 48 and Anthis had a 49. Covert shot a 50 and Marbet rounded out the group with a 59.

The Highclimbers wrapped up the regular season Oct. 11, traveling to Highland Golf Course to take on Aberdeen.
