Quixote Village fundraiser event in Shelton Sept. 30
The second annual Quixote Communities’ Tiny Homes Big Future Celebration fundraiser is hosted from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at The Pavilion, 190 W. Sentry Drive in Shelton.
Quixote Communities has three villages for homeless people, including one devoted to local veterans that recently opened in Shelton.
At the event, the nonprofit will thank its 2023 Partners of the Year: Mason County VFW Post 1694, Mason County VFW Post 1694 Auxiliary and the Puget Sound Veterans Hope Center. April Pooler and Garrett Ratfield are the group’s 2023 Champions of the Year.
Admission is $50, which includes food from Kern’s Kitchen, two complimentary beverages, music by DJ David and a commemorative glass. All the proceeds go toward providing permanent housing and supportive services to previously homeless residents at Quixote Communities. Services include case management, transportation, care coordination, behavioral health services, life skills classes and housing stability.

Oktoberfest celebration in Allyn
The Allyn Community Association hosts an Oktoberfest event from 1 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 on the Allyn waterfront, 18560 state Route 3.
Patrons must be 21 years or older. The event offers locally produced beer, food and music by King Kom Beaux. On-site parking is available, and shuttle transit is available from 1 to 7:30 p.m. at 20 E. Wheelwright St. in Allyn.
Shred documents and help North Mason Food Bank
Kitsap Bank is partnering with the North Mason Food Bank to host “From Shred to Fed” event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kitsap Bank’s Belfair branch at 24810 state Route 3.
Bring outdated or sensitive documents for safe destruction and disposal, and give a donation to the food bank. The limit is 75 pounds per vehicle. Checks can be made to North Mason Food Bank.
October auditions for Connection Street show
Connection Street Theatre hosts auditions for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 1 p.m. Oct. 8 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection St., Shelton.
Roles are available for people between the ages of 8 and more than 80. The show is adapted from the Broadway musical, but no singing in this version is required. For more information, go to http://www.faithshelton.org/connection-street-theatre.
