Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Bob Molesworth, Jr. passed away on July 7, 2023, with his family by his side Carson City, Nevada. Bob was born on May 14th, 1939 in Oakland, California, but raised in Sonoma.
After graduating Sonoma Valley High school, he enrolled at Santa Rosa Jr. College and then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960, spending three years in Germany. After his time in the Army, he worked a variety of jobs including the U.S. Postal Service; the Design Division at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, until he found his love with the Fire Service, which he dedicated the next 40 years to. After retiring from Mare Island as a Captain, he moved to Shelton where he was a Fire Warden for the Mason County Fire Marshall's office. He also volunteered for Central Mason County Fire Dept. and South Kitsap Fire Dept. in Port Orchard, WA where he lived for 10 years.
Bob held many titles in his life from father, uncle, cousin, friend, but his greatest title was 'grandpa'. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and even more, his grandchildren. He was always there for them, cheering them on at their games, graduations, or just his appreciation for a family dinner.
Being a fire fighter was one of his biggest passions, but he also loved trains, and finding the end of any dirt road or trail.
Come celebrate Bob's life with us on September 23, 2023, at the Sonoma Valley Fire Station No. 2, 877 Center Street in Sonoma from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
