Ward Villines

The youngest of four, Ward was born to William and Carol Villines. After graduating Olympia High School he joined the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam. The same year, he graduated from Georgia State he married his first wife, Judy McKinnon. Years later, Ward married his second wife, Debra Keravich. At the time of his passing the couple had spent 32 years together.

Ward was the owner and manager of Characters Corner Tavern in the community of Steamboat Island. In total, he had worked 44 years at Characters before selling it in 2022. He was an avid golfer and poker player, and was also known for his puns, dad jokes and open heart.

He is survived by his wife Debra Villines, his sisters Vicki Clark, Deborah Bransford and their families. As well as the family of his departed brother Bill.

Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the Prosperity Grange, located at 3701 Steamboat Island Rd NW, Olympia, WA 98502. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you remember Ward by donating to your favorite charity.
