Etta Mae Spring

On June 21, 2023, Etta (Mae) Spring of Hoodsport, WA peacefully passed away in her sleep at the age of 83.

Etta Mae Spring, popularly known as Mae Spring was born to Tory and Etta Mae Phipps on March 5, 1940, in Boise Idaho. Mae was their first child; she had four sisters and one brother.

Mae moved to Hoodsport in 1967, with her three children. In 1971 Mae met her beloved husband Hans Spring they were happily married for 32 years; he passed on in 2003.

Mae's work history included owning a few businesses and was the bookkeeper and manager. She also was heavily involved in Community Activities in Mason and Thurston Counties for 30 years. She was the Treasurer for the Thurston County Renters Association for 20 years.

Mae loved her family very much she leaves behind two sisters, one son, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a few cousins.

Mae loved traveling, gardening, cooking, telling stories, listening to country western music and watching old western movies, she loved helping others as well and being with family.

Mae was survived by her sisters, her son, her grandsons, and great-grandchildren, along with her friends. Mae will be greatly missed by many; she will be always and forever remembered.

A Memorial Celebration of Life service is being held on July 14th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Hood Canal Community Church in Hoodsport, WA with a reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be brought to the church or mailed to the Hoodsport Food Bank at P.O. Box 995, Hoodsport, WA. 98548.
