Goldsborough Creek Run/Walk Saturday morning

Runners, walkers and "senior stretchers" can sign up for the annual Goldsborough Creek Run/Walk, staged Saturday as part of the Mason County Forest Festival.

To register, go to http://www.runsignup.com. Participants can also sign up the day of the event starting at 6:30 a.m.

The Centennial Guild of Mason General Hospital Foundation stages the event, with proceeds going to scholarships.

The event includes a 7-mile walk, a 7-mile run, a 2-mile walk or run, a quarter-mile junior jog, and a quarter-mile event for participants ages 65 and older.

All races conclude in front of the Shelton Post Office at West Railroad Avenue in downtown Shelton.

The 7-mile walk begins at 7 a.m. at Shelton Valley Christian School, the 7-mile run at 8 a.m. The 2-mile run or walk begins at 8 a.m. at the school.

The quarter-mile junior jog begins at 9:15 a.m. at the corner of Seventh Street and Railroad Avenue. The quarter-mile senior stretch begins at 9:30 a.m.

Participants can park in town and catch the Mason Transit bus at Third Street and West Railroad Avenue starting at 6:30 a.m. to go to the Shelton Valley Christian School.
