Barbara "Babs" Strickland

Barbara "Babs" Stickland passed away May 20, 2023, at home surrounded by love.

She was born in Arpin, Wisconsin on March 24, 1936, to Vic and Marion Bisser. The family moved to Shelton when she was nine. She was Forest Festival Princess and graduated from Irene S. Reed in 1954.

Barbara married Ron Strickland on July 3, 1954, had four children and were married just shy of 50 years when he passed in February, 2004. She worked in the grocery business her entire career. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping, gardening all her flowers, doing word search puzzles, scratch off tickets and going to the casino.

Everyone that knew her loved her. Her smile and infectious laugh always brought a smile to your face.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Vergene "Sis" Swearingen, and husband Ron. She is survived by her brother Tony (Sandy) Bisser, sister-in-law, Patty (Jim) Trollier, son Vic (Sharee) Strickland, daughters Val (Mark) Wittenberg, Teresa, Ohlson, Tina (Mark) Lewis, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her laughter and silliness will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 12 to 4:00 p.m. at Val's house. Please join us with your memories and stories of her. For more information call Tina. (360) 280-2609.
