Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Andrew "Drew" Christian Eken was born on March 12, 1954 in Bellingham, WA. He spent his young childhood years in Moses Lake, WA and moved to Shelton, WA as a young teen.
Drew enjoyed and excelled in many sports, but his greatest passion was the rodeo.
After graduating from Shelton High School in 1973, Drew worked in the logging industry and earned an 'all round' logger trophy one year at the Mason County Forest Festival Log Show. Drew also attended Centralia Community College where he played basketball. He left after one year to pursue his dream in the rodeo with the Flying U Rodeo Company, working as a stock manager, bull trainer, bull fighter, rodeo clown, entertainer, and chariot racer. He also did stunt work for some movies as well as for episodes for the series Renegade and Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man.
Drew passed away peacefully on May 19, 2023, while resting after enjoying a morning of volunteer work. Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton, WA on June 3rd at 2:00 p.m.
For all of Drew's life he seemed to enjoy helping people and making them laugh.
"Thank you, Drew, for the kindness and laughter you brought into our lives! We'll miss you."
