Shelton baseball
Shelton’s season came to an end on May 10 with a 7-2 loss to Mark Morris in the 2A District IV baseball tournament in Ridgefield.
The Highclimbers finished the season 10-10 overall.
Shelton track
The Shelton boys and girls track teams each finished fourth at the Evergreen Conference Championships on Friday at Tiger Stadium in Centralia.
In girls results, Shelton junior Lily Bennett won the 3,200-meter race in 12 minutes, 30 seconds. Shelton junior Moa Skold won the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 7 inches.
Shelton junior Maryjane Hageman placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Freshman Madison Lohmeyer took third place in the 1,600-meter race.
Senior Magdalena Vondrousova earned fourth place in the 800-meter race. Junior Angela Anderson finished fourth in the shot put and senior Taylin Vandyke took fourth place in the discus.
Senior Olivia Henry finished fourth in the javelin.
The Shelton 4x100 relay team of Shi Hollins, Delfina Ramirez, Joy Gattinger and Kennadi Ward finished second.
In boys results, Shelton senior Jacob Miller won the 1,600-meter race in 4:25.64 and the 3,200-meter race in 9:53.26.
Junior Carson Bursch finished third in the 800-meter race and senior Jaydon Blackburn placed third in the 3,200-meter race. Junior Cameron Huisingh finished third in the high jump. Senior Nathan Gomez finished fourth in the 200-meter race.
The Shelton 4x100 relay team of Huisingh, Gomez, Gavin Nielsen-Ricker and Bradley Eleton took second place.
The top four places in each event earned a spot in the 2A District IV Championship meet on Friday at Columbia River High School in Vancouver.
North Mason softball
North Mason wrapped up the regular season with a win and two losses in Olympic League contests last week.
The Bulldogs defeated Bainbridge 14-4 on May 9 in Bainbridge. North Mason lost 13-3 to Kingtson on May 11 in Kingston and lost 12-2 to North Kitsap on May 12 at North Kitsap.
North Mason finished the regular season 6-10 overall.
North Mason earned a berth into the District 2/3 tournament as the No. 15 seed and will face Franklin Pierce at 10 a.m. Friday at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey in a loser out game.
If the Bulldogs win, they would face the loser of No. 2 Orting and No. 7 Port Angeles at 2 p.m., and if they won that game, would play at 5 p.m. in a winner to state game.
Mary M. Knight track
Mary M. Knight freshman Andiana Ziegler won the 800-meter race at the 1B Coastal League Championship meet on May 10 at Naselle High School.
Ziegler finished the race in 3:00.74 and took second in the 400-meter race and third in the 1,600 meter race. Fellow Owl freshman Zoie Anderson placed second in the 800-meter race and third in the high jump.
Mary M. Knight freshman Logan Green finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 34 feet, 2.75 inches.
MMK will compete at the 1B District 1/2/3/4 Championship meet today at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.
