Spring plant sale

The Harstine Island Garden Club hosts its Spring Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Harstine Island Community Hall, 371 E. Harstine Island Road N.

Last weekend for ‘Pirates of Penzance’

Shelton’s Connection Street Theatre stages the two-act comic opera “The Pirates of Penzance” at 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 1212 Connection St., Shelton.

Tickets are $5, and are sold at the door, which opens 30 minutes before each performance. Information: http://www.faithshelton.org.

Ribbon-cutting event for new court

The opening of the Lincoln Gym Memorial Court in the Shelton Civic Center parking lot will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting at noon May 24 at 425 W. Cota St.

Ferguson featured at Democrats dinner

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson — who recently announced he was throwing his hat into the race for governor, state Treasurer Mike Pellicciotti and Democratic State Party Chair Shasti Conrad are the featured speakers at the Mason County Democratic Party’s annual Kennedy dinner and fundraiser June 11 at the Lucky Dog Casino Event Center, 19330 U.S. Highway 101.

A no-host social hour begins at 3 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner. Tickets are $75, or $125 with benefits. Checks to the MCDCC can be mailed to P.O. Box 1271, Shelton 98584, or purchased online at http://www.masoncountywademocrats.org.
