Shelton track
The Shelton boys and girls each won an Evergreen Conference track meet on March 21 in Centralia to open the track season.
Miller won the 1,600-meter race in 4:34.7. Huisingh won the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 8 inches and Steven Gee won the pole vault at a heigh of 7 feet. Nathan Gomez placed second in the 200-meter race and long jump, Gabriel Menefee finished second in the 400-meter race, Anthony Warren-Keyzers placed second in the shot put and discus and Scott Jordan finished second in the triple jump.
The 4x100 relay team of Huisingh, Gomez, Benjamin Morford and Bradley Eleton won with a time of 46 seconds.
In girls results, Kennadi Ward won the 100-meter dash in 13.7 seconds. Vondrousova won the 800-meter race, Bennett won the 1,600-meter race and Maryjane Hageman won the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. Olivia Henry won the javelin with a toss of 95 feet, 7 inches and Maddie Allred won the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 6 inches.
Quin Neal finished second in the 200-meter race, Lohmeyer finished second in the 1,600-meter race and Henry placed second in the shot put. Skold finished second in the high jump and Ward finished second in the long jump.
The 4x100 relay team of Delfina Ramirez, Neal, Brookey Smith and Ward won the race in 57 seconds. The 4x200 relay team of Hageman, Delayne Lupo, Smith and Vondrousova won with a time of 2:02.3. The 4x400 relay team of Allred, Lohmeyer, Bennett and Vondrousova won with a time of 5:10.2.
Jacob Miller and Mario Boxley each won events at the Curtis Viking Relays track meet Saturday at Curtis High School in University Place.
Mario Boxley won the shot put with a toss of 44 feet, 8 inches, and he finished second in the discus with a throw of 127 feet. Cameron Huisingh placed second in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches.
The DMR relay team of Carson Bursch, Landon Bursch, Blackburn and Miller finished second with a time of 11:01.65.
In girls results, Lily Bennett finished fourth in the mile race with a time of 5:47.41.
The DMR relay team of Madison Lohmeyer, Maddie Allred, Magdalena Vondrousova and Lily Bennett finished second with a time of 14:25.
Shelton girls golf
Shelton lost the opening match of the season 46-40 to Rochester in an Evergreen Conference girls golf match March 21 at Alderbrook Golf Course.
Alena Hall led the Highclimbers with 16 points to earn match medalist. Gwenny Smith tallied five points, Gabby Stevens recorded four points, Morgan Shrum totaled three points and Andrea Fogo chipped in one point.
Shelton boys soccer
Shelton earned an Evergreen Conference win and had a loss last week in boys soccer action.
The Highclimbers fell 4-1 in Tumwater on March 22 and hosted Rochester Saturday and earned a 2-1 win.
Shelton (2-3, 2-2) hosted Aberdeen on Tuesday and travels to Black Hills on Friday for an EvCo game before spring break.
Shelton girls tennis
Shelton lost in its opening tennis match of the season against River Ridge 4-2 in Shelton on March 22.
Evelyn Allen and Nevaeh Haskins each won their singles match.
Shelton fell to Black Hills on Monday in Shelton in a tiebreaker after splitting the six matches, but Black Hills won on points. Shelton singles players Hannah Pratt, Evelyn Allen and Adalyn Kapa each won their matches.
North Mason track
North Mason’s Kezlie Thygesen set a new school record while finishing second in the 3,200-meter race at the Bedlington Twilight track meet Friday in Lynden.
Thygesen finished the race in 11 minutes, 43 seconds. Thygesen broke her own school record, which was 11:44.30. She finished third in the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:47.85. Adrianna Tupolo finished third in the discus and fifth in the javelin.
In boys results, Jackson Bergdahl finished fourth in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 10:39.19 and Ethan Fore placed fourth in the discus with a time of 120 feet, 2 inches. Alexander Rank finished fifth in the high jump, sixth in the 100-meter race and eighth in the long jump. Keegan Bonnell placed ninth in the triple jump.
North Mason boys soccer
The Bulldogs lost a pair of Olympic League games last week.
North Mason lost 5-1 at home against Port Angeles on March 21 and hosted Bremerton on Thursday and fell 4-1.
North Mason girls tennis
North Mason dropped Olympic League matches to Sequim and Olympic last week.
The Bulldogs lost 6-1 in Sequim on March 21 and hosted Olympic on March 22, losing 5-2.
Mary M. Knight track
Mary M. Knight’s Andiana Ziegler and Lexi Stamper each finished second in events last Thursday at a track meet in Eatonville.
Ziegler finished second in the 800-meter race with a time of 3 minutes, 11 seconds, and finished third in the 400-meter race. Stamper finished second in the shot put with a throw of 28 feet, 3.5 inches, and she placed eighth in the discus.
Ben Camacho-Vizena placed 12th in the discus and Logan Green earned 17th in the shot put.
Mary M. Knight is back in action today with a league meet in Ilwaco.
