Goldsborough Creek run and walk

Registration is underway for the Goldsborough Creek Run and Walk, a Mason County Forest Festival event staged June 3.

Participants can register for the 7-mile walk, 7-mile run, 2-mile run or walk, the senior quarter-mile and the Junior Jog, also a quarter-mile. Register online at Runsignup.com, or pick up a form at the Mason General Hospital Foundation office in the Shelton Gateway Center, Anytime Fitness, the Shelton YMCA and Shelton Athletic Club.

The courses of 2 and 7 miles begin in Shelton Valley and end on West Railroad Avenue in front of the Shelton Post Office. The quarter-mile events begin and end on West Railroad Avenue and Seventh Street.

Members of the Centennial Guild, an affiliate of the Mason General Foundation are coordinating the event. Proceeds support a nursing scholarship in the memory of Kristi Armstrong, and for equipment for Mason General Hospital.

Color and converse at Shelton library

Friends of the Shelton Library are sponsoring a free program called Colorful Conversations, where participants color art and converse, from 1 to 2 p.m. April 27, May 25, June 22, July 27 and Aug. 24 at the library at 710 West Alder St..

Children are welcome to attend with a participating adult. Light refreshments are provided, and reservations are not required. For more information, call the library at 360-426-1362.

Kiwanis dinner, auction Saturday

The Pioneer Kiwanis Foundation hosts its annual seafood dinner and auction at 4 p.m. Saturday to benefit youths of the Pioneer School District and Mason County.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children ages 3 to 10, and kids younger than 3 admitted for free. For tickets, call Sherry at 360-229-0673.

Auction items include gift baskets and certificates, lodging getaways, and works by local artists.

Money raised at the event will go to six scholarships for Pioneer Middle School eighth-graders to be used for post-high school education, and four scholarships for high school graduates from the Pioneer School District attending Cedar, CHOICE, North Mason and Shelton high schools. The Pioneer Kiwanis Foundation funds other local programs as well, including the STEM garden at Pioneer Schools.

Spring Bazaar April 1 at senior center

The Mason County Senior Activities Association hosts a Spring Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 1 at the Pavilion Events Center, 190 W. Sentry Drive, Shelton.

The event features more than 25 vendors, homemade baked goods by senior center members, and lunch available for purchase between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The proceeds benefit the senior center.
