Shelton High, Oakland Bay choirs perform March 7

The Shelton High School and Oakland Bay Junior High School choirs perform the concert "Women of Word and Song" at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelton High School Performing Arts Center.

Paul Nakhla directs all the choirs, and Anne-Marie Nakhla is the accompanist. The high school groups performing are the Chamber Singers, Concert Choir, Shades and Illusions. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Learn about OC Shelton construction, welding programs

Olympic College Shelton offers informational sessions March 8 on construction trades and welding.

Adults, high school students and employers are invited to learn about the course requirements, enrollment steps and financial aid opportunities for construction trades at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and for welding at 1 p.m.

Kristmastown Kiwanis offering scholarships

March 15 is the deadline for Mason County high school seniors to apply for a Kristmastown Kiwanis college scholarship.

The group will award $4,250 in scholarships. Candidates must submit a completed application, their most recent high school transcript, and proof of enrollment at an institution of higher learning, when available. Application forms are available from school guidance counselors.

Credit union offers scholarships to 2023 graduates

April 30 is the deadline for local graduating high school seniors to apply for seven $1,000 scholarships offered by Our Community Credit Union.

The scholarships are open to graduating 2023 high school seniors who attend school in Mason, Grays Harbor and Thurston counties, and on Vashon Island. The students must be a member of OCCU to be eligible.
