Shelton boys basketball
Shelton lost to Evergreen Conference opponents, but won two nonleague games against Bremerton and Kingston last week.
The Highclimbers fell 50-47 to W.F. West in Chehalis on Jan. 17 and came home Jan. 19, losing to Black Hills 52-24. Shelton bounced back Friday and Saturday, defeating Bremerton on Friday at Terry Gregg Court 55-43 and a 54-50 win against Kingston Saturday in Shelton.
Against the Bucs, Weetly Cordova scored 13, Mason Goos added 12 and Gabe Menefee added 11.
Against the Knights, Cordova had 18, Goos had 14 and Menefee scored 11.
Shelton (8-8, 3-6) hits the road to face Rochester on Friday and Sammamish at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Shelton girls basketball
The Highclimbers lost to W.F. West but bounced back with wins against Black Hills and Kingston last week.
Shelton lost 57-27 to W.F. West on Jan. 18 at Terry Gregg Court. The Highclimbers traveled to Tumwater to take on Black Hills on Jan. 20 and won 47-39 and followed it up with a 54-38 win against Kingston on Saturday.
Shelton boys swimming
Shelton boys earned a win against Central Kitsap but fell to North Thurston in nonleague boys swimming meets in Shelton last week.
The Highclimbers won 102-67 against Central Kitsap on Jan. 17. Charlie Morson won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 3 seconds. Judah Holzgrove won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:27.70 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.33. Wyatt Anthis won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.63.
Tawan Benedict won the 100-yard butterfly in 56.79 and Andrew Karr won the 500-yard freestyle in 6:00.03.
Shelton’s 200-yard medley relay team of Jayden Lovingfoss, Benedict, Wyatt Anthis and Holzgrove won in 1:54.96. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Wyatt Anthis, Morson, Coy Carter and Karr won in 1:47.23. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Morson, Karr, Holzgrove and Benedict won in 3:55.44.
North Thurston earned a 94-76 win in Shelton on Jan. 19. Morson won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.77 and Benedict won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.86. Holzgrove won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.03.
Shelton’s 200-yard medley relay team of Lovingfoss, Benedict, Wyatt Anthis and Holzgrove won in 1:53.39. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Benedict, Morson, Carter and Lovingfoss won in 3:53.65.
Shelton traveled to Lakes High School on Tuesday for a nonleague swim meet and competes next at the Southwest Washington Invite at Mark Morris High School in Longview on Saturday.
Shelton wrestling
The Shelton boys wrestling team finished third at the River Ridge Rumble on Saturday in Lacey.
Shelton’s Ty Fleshman at 126 pounds, Logan Peach at 138 pounds and Mario Boxley at 182 pounds each placed second in their respective tournaments. Drew Schirman at 132 pounds, Cameron Huisingh at 160 pounds and Daniel Tausa at 285 pounds each placed third in their respective tournaments.
The Highclimbers won an Evergreen Conference wrestling match Tuesday at the Mini-Dome against Rochester, earning a 77-0 win.
Shelton traveled to Centralia on Wednesday for the final Evergreen Conference meet of the season.
Mary M. Knight girls basketball
The Owls lost to Taholah and South Bend but earned a win against North River in Coastal League and nonleague girls basketball games last week.
Mary M. Knight lost to Taholah 66-28 on Jan. 17 in Matlock. The Owls defeated North River 50-16 on Jan. 20 in Matlock. MMK hit the road on Saturday and fell 49-19 in a nonleague game.
MMK (6-7, 4-1) traveled to Wishkah Valley on Tuesday for a league game and hosted Elma on Wednesday in a nonleague game. The Owls travel to Oakville on Friday for a league game.
Mary M. Knight boys basketball
Mary M. Knight dropped three games to Taholah, North River and South Bend in boys basketball action last week.
MMK fell 69-13 to Taholah on Jan. 17 in Matlock and lost 69-18 to North River on Jan. 20 in Matlock. The Owls lost 45-20 to South Bend on the road on Jan. 21.
MMK (0-12, 0-7) traveled to Wishkah Valley on Tuesday and hosted Elma on Wednesday in a nonleague contest. MMK travels to Oakville on Friday for a Coastal League matchup.
North Mason girls basketball
North Mason lost two Olympic League games last week.
The Bulldogs lost 60-34 to Port Angeles on Jan. 17 in Belfair before traveling to Bremerton and losing 63-41 on Jan. 19.
North Mason’s nonleague game against Crescent on Saturday was ruled a no contest.
North Mason (7-6, 4-6) hosted No. 2 Sequim on Tuesday and traveled to Klahowya on Wednesday for a nonleague game.
North Mason boys basketball
North Mason fell in two Olympic League boys basketball game last week.
The Bulldogs lost 61-40 in Port Angeles against the Roughriders on Jan. 17 before coming home and falling 61-51 to Bremerton.
North Mason has two road games this week, traveling to Sequim on Tuesday and hitting the road today to face Olympic in an Olympic League contest.

North Mason earned a 40-30 win against Bremerton on senior night Jan. 18 in Belfair.
The Bulldogs traveled to Sequim on Wednesday for an Olympic League dual with Olympic and Sequim.
