Jordan and Jareau Afo were sentened Tuesday for the murder of Derrick Wily in November 2020.
Jareau pled guilty Nov. 8 to second-degree murder in Mason County Superior Court. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, according to Mason County Clerk Sharon Moore-Fogo.
Jordan pled guilty to one count of first-degree criminal assistance and received a five-year prison sentence. He also pled guilty to one count of unlawful disposal of human remains and received 90 days in prison, according to Moore-Fogo. He also pled guilty to the charges Nov. 8.
Judge Monty Cobb presided over the case.
According to court documents, Jareau choked Wily to death and Jordan helped dispose of Wily’s body. Jordan was caught disposing of the body near Isabella Lake, where Shelton Police detained Jordan. He told police that he had killed Wily, put his body in the woods and he told police where the body could be found.
Police went to the location Jordan described and found Wily’s body. Jareau was contacted by police after that and detained outside his home.
