Jaylin Moore is set to become a Raider next fall.
The Shelton High School senior volleyball standout signed with Pierce College of the Northwest Athletic Conference to compete for the Raiders' volleyball team.
"I'm excited to play close to home so my family and friends can watch me," Moore wrote in an email. "I like that I will be near home for at least the next year of college."
Moore plays right side and outside on her club team, Dakine, and right side for the Highclimbers, but said she's ready to play anywhere she's asked.
"I've played varsity at the high school for two years and I've been playing club for six years," Moore wrote. "I spent most of my time playing volleyball or training, and that wouldn't be possible without my parents, grandparent and friends."
Moore plans to study kinesiology in college and eventually become an athletic trainer.
"My dad, Andy, my stepmom, Krystal, and my mom, Destani, have all been huge supporters throughout this journey," Moore wrote.
Moore said former Shelton standout McKenzie Salazar-Fox is the volleyball player she looked up to the most, in high school and during the club season.
"I remember watching her play at the high school and during club because we played for the same club and she blew my mind every time I would watch her," Moore wrote.
Moore also credited her Dakine U17 club coaches, Shannon Coers and Hannah Scroger, for being among the most influential people during her volleyball career.
