Linda Cargill, 73, a 42 year resident of Shelton, WA passed away on November 3, 2022.
She was born to Orlean and Joyce Boen in Minneapolis, MN on April 22, 1949. She graduated from Rosemount High School in Minneapolis. She received her BA in Elementary and Special Education from St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, MN. She married Herb Cargill May 3, 1980 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton.
Linda taught special Education in Winthrop, MN. She was the Youth Leader and Adult Education coordinator for Faith Lutheran Church for 28 years retiring in 2012. She was a member of PEO and a board member of the Karen Hilburn Cancer fund. As a member of Faith Lutheran Church, she belonged to the Sandwich Club making sandwiches for Community Lifeline.
Linda’s joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Although her hobbies included reading, playing cards with friends and singing in the church choir, her real passion was helping people. If someone needed help or a meal, Linda was first to step up. She was a consummate organizer planning many retreats, special celebrations and youth activities. She loved to entertain in her home. Her energy, excitement for life and generous spirit will be hard to match. She is missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Rev. Gary Boen of Karlstad, MN. She is survived by the love of her life, Herb, her sons: Eric (Sarah) Cargill of Seattle, Joshua Gnerer of Belfair, Zachary Cargill (Marguerite) of Bellingham and six grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 19, 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1212 Connection Street in Shelton In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Karen Hilburn Cancer Fund.
