Structure fire Friday on 7th Street
Central Mason Fire and EMS fought a structure fire on South 7th Street in Shelton on Friday afternoon.
According to a news release, the first unit arrived in three minutes to find a fire at a condemned house. Crews fought a house fire at the same location several weeks ago and were able to quickly extinguish the fire. The cause is under investigation.
Mason County Fire District 11, 4, Shelton Police Department and PUD 3 assisted Central Mason Fire with the incident.
Equipment fire at Pacific Fiber Mill
Central Mason Fire and EMS responded to a fire in a hopper at the Pacific Fiber Mill on Johns Prairie Road. According to a news release, crews arrived to find light smoke coming from a large hopper used to filter sawdust. CMFE crews used Truck 58 to reach an access door at the top of the hopper. Crews used a combination of aerial streams and hard lines to extinguish the burning material inside. Total damage is unknown and the cause is being investigated.
