Summer nights

Flowers line the eastern shore of Hood Canal on Aug. 18 at Potlatch State Park below wispy sunset clouds. This photo is a 20-second exposure taken with a 6-stop neutral density filter. The foreground has been lightly dodged (lightened). The longer exposure helps smooth the surface of the water and allows more color depth to show in the sky.
