Donate blood to help ease shortage

People can donate blood June 15-17 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1171 NE Sand Hill Road, Belfair.

Join others for stroll of Bayshore Preserve

Capitol Land Trust and the Shelton Timberland Library host an evening stroll at 6:30 p.m. June 21 at the Bayshore Preserve at 3800 state Route 3, about 3 miles north of downtown Shelton.

Participants will gather at the kiosk in the parking lot. The 1.5-mile walk has views of Johns Creek and Oakland Bay, and the preserve is a favorite with birds. The event is family friendly.

Tickets for annual golf tourney on sale

Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Love INC Charity Golf Tournament, which will be hosted July 18 at the Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club in Union.

Teams of up to four golfers can save $25 in registration fees if they register by June 15. After June 15, the registration fee rises from $150 to $175.

The event is the largest fundraiser for Shelton-based Love INC (In the Name of Christ), whose 25 partner churches provide people with clothing, blankets, backpacks for kids, diapers, medical equipment and financial help. Family event June 18 at Kneeland Park

The Early Learning Coalition of Mason County hosts the Summer Kick-Off Carnival Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 at Kneeland Park in Shelton.

The free event includes door prizes and food from Radio Fryer. The park is at 100 Turner Ave.
