About 100 people attended the official opening May 25 of the Shelton School District's Manufacturing, Engineering & Technology (MET) Academy building on the Shelton High School campus. High School students, who have been learning in the building since November, gave attendees demonstrations of the equipment in the facility.

Shelton High School student Angel Nunez Acosta solders a wire splice. Students can choose a focused pathway in one area such as construction, welding or auto repair, or they can interconnect these areas with electronics, mechatronics, engineering, CAD, and other disciplines.
