Shelton baseball

Shelton faced Black Hills in a pair of games this past week.

The Highclimbers won 3-1 at home April 19 before traveling to Tumwater on Monday and earning a 5-2 win.

Shelton (11-5 overall, 6-4 league) hosted Crosspoint Academy on Wednesday and is at home against Black Hills on Friday. The Highclimbers hit the road Monday to take on Aberdeen.

Track

The Shelton boys and girls competed in an Evergreen Conference meet with Tumwater and Black Hills on April 21 in Tumwater.

In girls action, Shelton’s Tatum Dickey won the 800-meter race with a time of 2:34.82. Ali Clifton won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:42.36. Quin Neal won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 4 inches. The 4x100 relay team of Delfina Ramirez, Dickey, Annalise Barkman and Kennadi Ward won with a time of 1:08.39.

In boys action, Kaden Pearson picked up a pair of victories, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.80 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.76 seconds. Jacob Miller won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4:36.24. Mario Boxley won the javelin with a throw of 147 feet.

The Highclimbers are back in action this Saturday at the 61st Shelton Invitational.

Boys soccer

Shelton lost 3-2 to Black Hills in the lone boys soccer game of the past week.

The Highclimbers (0-8, 0-8) traveled to Aberdeen on Tuesday and is in Centralia on Friday to take on the Tigers.

Softball

Shelton had three games in the past week in Evergreen Conference softball action.

The Highclimbers fell to the Bearcats 13-2 on April 20 at home, but bounced back with a 9-6 win on the road against Black Hills on April 22. Shelton hosted Aberdeen on Monday and lost 9-0.

Shelton (4-9, 3-7) traveled to Rochester on Wednesday, hosts Tumwater on Friday and is on the road against Centralia on Monday.

Girls golf

Shelton earned a 30-23 win against Centralia in an Evergreen Conference girls golf match at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on April 19.

Taylia Budge earned medalist honors for the Highclimbers with 13 points, carding a 59. Kaia Johnson tallied 10 points, Alena Hall had six points and Gabby Stevens chipped in one point.

Shelton hosted Aberdeen at Alderbrook Golf Course on Wednesday and hosts Elma at Alderbrook today in a nonleague match.

Centralia travels to Shelton for an EvCo match Monday.

North Mason boys soccer

The Bulldogs fell in two matches last week in Olympic League games.

North Mason lost on the road 5-0 to Bremerton on April 19 before dropping a 4-3 contest on the road against Olympic.

The Bulldogs traveled to Kingston on Tuesday. North Mason hosts North Kitsap today and Sequim at 2 p.m. Saturday in Olympic League games.

Softball

The Bulldogs earned a 5-4 win against North Kitsap on April 19 in the lone game last week.

North Mason traveled to Port Angeles on Tuesday and returns home today to host Bremerton. The Bulldogs travel to Forks for a nonleague doubleheader at noon Saturday.

Baseball

The Bulldogs fell to Sequim 5-1 on Monday in an Olympic League game.

North Mason (2-8, 1-6) hosts Bainbridge today in an Olympic League match before traveling to Forks for a doubleheader at noon on Saturday. The Bulldogs take North Kitsap in an Olympic League doubleheader Monday in Poulsbo.

Track

The North Mason girls finished third and the boys took fourth place at a six-team track meet at Olympic High School on April 20.

In girls action, North Mason’s Averie Dupont won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.10 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Averie Dupont, Kezlie Thygesen, Adrianne Tupolo and Cali Dupont took second place.

Tanza Tupolo earned second place in the shot put and discus and Adrianne Tupolo placed second in the high jump.

In boys action, the 4x100 relay team of Trent Petersen, Dakota Filer, Avery Ballein and Alexander Rank won with a time of 46.45 seconds.

North Mason competes in an Olympic League match with Sequim and North Kitsap on Thursday in Poulsbo before going to the Shelton Invitational on Saturday.

Mary M. Knight track

Mary M. Knight’s Danny Goeders won the high jump at the Chehalis Activators Invitational in Chehalis on April 22 and 23.

Goeders leaped 5 feet, 3 inches for the victory in the invitational. He finished 13th in the 800-meter race in the classic.

Drake Jenkins placed 29th in the invitational shot put and Dakota Diggle placed 39th in the shot put.

The Owls are back in action today at a league meet in Raymond before competing in the Shelton Invitational on Saturday.
