Pioneer School Board meets Tuesday
The Pioneer School Board will meet for its regular meeting at
6 p.m. Tuesday.
A virtual link will be included in the board agenda on the district’s website 24 hours before the meeting.
According to School Board President Soosi Day, the board voted to hire Paula Akerlund to conduct a comprehensive review of the district. Akerlund is a retired school district superintendent who conducts district reviews.
The report will be presented in mid-February and will provide a baseline to develop the district’s strategic plan and address district leadership issues raised at the December board meeting by the Pioneer Education Association, Day wrote.
3 local students earn Oregon State honors
Three students from Mason County earned spots on the honor roll for the fall quarter at Oregon State University.
To be eligible, a student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better for the quarter while taking at least 12 graded hours.
The students are Lindsay A. Fitzmorris of Belfair, a junior majoring in agricultural sciences; Aaron J. Boothe of Shelton, a junior majoring in computer sciences; and Gabriella M. Maestas of Shelton, a freshman majoring in math.
Five are standout students at New Hampshire college
Five students from Mason County are excelling at Southern New Hampshire University.
Jackson Tanner and Devin Allan of Shelton, and Tyson Wright of Grapeview earned a GPA of 3.7 or better while earning at least 12 credits to earn spots on the president’s list for the fall quarter.
Alyssa Miller of Shelton and Kallie Daviscourt of Belfair earned spots on the dean’s list for a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Shelton student makes dean’s list at Maryland college
Angela Stanford of Shelton earned a spot on the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Maryland.
To be eligible, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a GPA of 3.5 or better for the tern, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.
